Sappland microelectronics appeared in MEMS manufacturing conference toshow the R & D capability of filterlocalization

From October 28 to 30, 2020, China MEMS manufacturing conference was held in Suzhou. The conference invited all chain enterprises in MEMS design, research development, processing, manufacturing, packaging, and testing to participate in the exhibition. The purpose of the conference is to gather global MEMS manufacturing industry resources, strengthen the MEMS industry chain, promote vertical integration of industrial resources with MEMS manufacturing as the main line, and accelerate the breakthrough of the bottleneck in China’s MEMS manufacturing. As a high-tech enterprise focusing on the research and development of domestic RF front-end devices, Hangzhou Sappland Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd.presented at the conference, which displayed the latest technological achievements and highlights of the enterprise. In the process of promoting the localization of RF front-end devices, the presentation became one of the most attractive exhibitors in the conference.

With the advent of 5g era, more frequency bands and high-tech RF front-end products have greatly enhanced the value of the filter, and the filter alone has become the most important part of the whole RF front-end module market. However, important factors that have restricted the development of RF front- end devices in China have been the high technical threshold, large investment, late start, technological breakthrough and talent shortage.


 Sappland microelectronics has been deeply engaged in RF front-end devices since 2016, adhering to independent innovation and concentration on the research and development of high-quality RF front-end chips. At this conference, Sappland microelectronics focused on the temperature compensated surface acoustic wave (tc-saw) filter released this year and other series of products that have been put into mass production and marketed. Compared with conventional SAW filters, the tc-saw diplexer developed by Sappland microelectronics has the advantages of small size, low insertion loss and high operating frequencies (0.5ghz-3ghz), which can better supplement the performance of conventional SAW devices in the medium and high frequency bands. The performance of Sappland tc-saw diplexer has reached the world-class level,and the breakthrough and marketization of this technology fills the gap of high-end RF filters in China.

On October 30, Dr. Zhang, founder and general manager of Sappland microelectronics, shared his views on the development of radio frequency filters in the 5g era. He believes that the “enhanced mobile broadband (embB), massive Internet of things (mmtc), high reliability and low latency (urllc)” brought by 5g will promote the transformation of technology from the era of mobile Internet of animals to the era of Internet of things, and also make the radio frequency devices in terminals move towards high frequency, high reliability, and low latency. With the development of low power consumption, high performance, miniaturization and modularization, 5g is both an opportunity and a challenge to the terminal RF front end.
