On October 23, the 5th China MEMS Manufacturing Conference officially opened at the Suzhou International Expo Center. MEMS industry experts from around the world gathered by Jinji Lake to discuss the latest advances in MEMS technology and future development trends.Sappland Microelectronics was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech, delving into the new demands that advancements in mobile communication technology place on RF acoustic filters, as well as Sappland Microelectronics’ latest technological achievements in this field.
According to data from CCID Consulting, RF accounts for the largest share of China’s MEMS market, and RF filters are among the most critical and widely used components in building RF microwave subsystems. They are also some of the most extensively researched and mature devices in this field.
In his speech, Dr. Zhang from Sappland Microelectronics mentioned that as spectrum resources become increasingly scarce, the performance requirements for RF front-end devices will further rise, with MEMS manufacturing technology set to be a key driver of future RF device innovation.
With the rollout of 5G and the imminent arrival of 6G communication technology, RF devices in terminals are evolving towards higher frequencies, lower power consumption, enhanced performance, miniaturization, and modularization. RF filters, as the core components of RF devices, have a direct impact on the quality and stability of communication systems.
Dr. Zhang pointed out that as a crucial component in communication equipment, RF filters are undergoing a revolutionary transformation. In the era of high-frequency communication, supply chain security has heightened downstream customers’ demand for domestic alternatives to RF filters. As local manufacturers continue to accumulate technical expertise, there is a promising prospect of breaking the market monopoly held by Japanese and American companies. Sappland Microelectronics is also dedicated to advancing RF filter technology to help the global communications industry meet future challenges.
As a leading RF front-end device supplier in China, Sappland Microelectronics boasts a strong R&D team and advanced research equipment, successfully developing a range of high-performance RF filters and related products. These include Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) filters, Temperature Compensated SAW (TC-SAW) filters, high-performance SAW (PESAW™) filters, high-performance Bulk Acoustic Wave (PEBAW™) filters, and RF front-end modules. Additionally, Sappland Microelectronics offers customized RF front-end solutions tailored to client needs.
At the event, Dr. Zhang also shared several high-performance duplexers released by Sappland Microelectronics this year, such as the TC-SAW high-performance Band26/20 duplexer and the PESAW high-performance Band71/3/25 duplexer. These products have comprehensive performance indicators that match those of world-class standards.
Participation in the China MEMS Manufacturing Conference not only showcased Sappland Microelectronics’ leading technical capabilities in RF filters but also created opportunities for collaboration with other innovative companies in the industry.
The future is not predicted, but created. Innovation and competition will shape a new era in mobile communication. Sappland Microelectronics remains dedicated to advancing RF filter technology through continuous R&D investment and open collaboration, providing more competitive solutions for the future of global mobile communications.
